Hi,
I’ve been noticing that the charge door on my 23 Subaru Solterra doesn’t lock when the car’s locked. Kinda sketchy, right? This worries me; as it might leave the charging port open for damage or someone swiping stuff. Anybody else dealing with this or am I just totally missing a setting here?

Thank you, Jan

Hi Jan, I’ve noticed the same on my Solterra, the charge door doesn’t lock, even when the car’s locked. It’s definitely a bit concerning. The manual only mentions locking the cable handle, not the door itself. Seems like it’s just how it’s designed.

Oh, good to know, I guess! But still, kinda annoying, right? I’d definitely feel better if the charge door was locked, especially with how easy it is for someone to mess with it.

I'm with you on this. Seems pretty logical that the charge port door should lock when you lock the car, right? That's how it works on every other EV I've encountered. Honestly, the Solterra's approach feels a bit off. I wonder if it's an intentional design choice or just an oversight. It definitely adds an extra step to the routine, which can be a bit annoying.
