My 2-month-old Solterra Touring (1000 miles) is showing a fault with the secondary collision system. My cruise control and lane departure warning are also down. The car is clean, no accidents, and nothing's blocking the cameras or radar. It has been raining a lot lately.

The dealer has a long wait, so I'm hoping for a quick fix. Anyone else have this issue? What was the problem? Would an OBD2 scanner help?

Try using an external charger to fully charge your battery. While it might not hold the charge for long, it should clear the dash warnings until you can replace it. Alternatively, you can have a local battery shop test it for you.

I haven’t had that specific problem, but it sounds like a sensor calibration issue. An OBD2 scanner might help identify the fault.

Those collision system errors when they disable other features can be hard to fix. The rain might have caused a problem with a sensor or wire. While a simple scanner might show some errors it won't find the exact problem with the car's advanced safety features. Because it's a safety issue and a new car you should insist the dealer fix it quickly. Don't let them ignore you, as these systems are important for safety. Write down everything that happens, and if they're slow to help, contact Subaru directly.
