I can't seem to get this seat memory to work! The buttons themselves can be hit or miss. I tried the entire procedure from the manual several times, but nothing happened.

The weirdest part? I never get a beep! The car should beep when it is working or not, correct? I tried everything: different key fobs, different ignition positions, even with the car plugged in.

I have been dealing with this for a long time. Any suggestions before I take it in for the 5,000-mile checkup?

So they totally messed up how the seat memory buttons work.

Instead of just working, you have to wait for the car to do all this crazy stuff – connect to the internet, figure out who's driving, and then download your settings.

So, you press the button, and sometimes nothing happens!

That no-beep thing is super weird. Even if it’s not saving, it should still at least beep to give you a heads-up, right? have you tried holding down the memory button for a few seconds instead of just pressing it?

Toyota kind of screwed it up. Looks like you've tried everything on how those seat buttons work. It's not as simple as just hopping in and pressing a button anymore. It looks like they've tied the seat settings to driver profiles, which is a bit of a pain. You can't just jump in and go – you have to wait for the whole system to boot up, the internet connection to establish, and then for your profile to load, which might be tied to your key fob or some other device. Only after all that happens do the seat buttons actually know what they're supposed to do. So, if you hit a button before everything's loaded, it's a total gamble – it probably won't do anything, or at least, nothing predictable. In my experience, they mostly just don't respond until everything is ready."
