I noticed the seal on the side of my rear hatch is starting to come loose. The glue seems to be failing along the bottom and part of the way up. I'm taking it in for a software update on Monday, so I'll mention it to the dealership. This is the first time I've ever seen a car's hatch seal come unglued like this. Usually, they just wear out. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you get it fixed?"

It happened to me, like 6 months ago. Took it to the dealership. In the first instance, they re-adhered it, but after two weeks got loosened again. They replaced it on the next visit.

I’ve heard of this happening to a few Solterra owners, and it seems like a common issue with the adhesive used for the hatch seal. The dealership should be able to fix it quickly by reapplying or replacing the seal. If it happens again, I’ve seen people use high-strength weatherproof adhesive as a DIY fix, which might hold better long-term. Hopefully, the dealer resolves it for you on the first go!

Hmmm just thinking, could something have maybe scraped it while you were grabbing stuff out of the trunk?

I had something similar happen on a different car, and a little 3M weatherstrip adhesive did the trick. Since your Solterra is still new, go see if the dealer will handle it under warranty first.

That’s a new one! Usually, seals wear out, but it seems like the glue just gave up early. Definately mention it to the dealership when you go in for the update, they should take care of it. Hopefully, they’ll fix it right up before it turns into a bigger issue
