I’ve been a Subaru owner for years and recently got a Solterra. While I’ve loved most things about it, the adaptive cruise control (ACC) is making me second-guess my decision.

In rainy conditions, the ACC doesn’t seem to handle well. I’ve had multiple instances where it sped up way too close to the car ahead before I had to intervene. This never happened in my 2016 or 2019 Outbacks.

Now, I’ve also started seeing “front radar blocked” warnings when it’s raining, even though the radar isn’t dirty or physically obstructed. This wasn’t an issue in the rain with my Outbacks, so I’m wondering if this is a Solterra-specific problem.

Anyone else experiencing these issues? Any advice? I’m really torn, this could be a dealbreaker for me.

This is because they didn't have Toyota's safety system. The Soltera you have now doesn't have the Subaru eyesight (you should've had two cameras at the top of the windshield). The Toyota uses only one camera, which is why you can't rely on it under mixed weather conditions. I am aware every time with mine. I never rely on it.

Try to bring it in for service. There may be a need for software update. I read something like this about recall and got it fixed in all conditions.
