I recently had to replace the steering rack on my Solterra after a minor accident. Now, I can't seem to get my diagnostic tool to talk to the car's computer. I've tried everything, but it's like the car is playing dead. I'm worried this could be an electrical issue beyond my expertise.

Has anyone else run into this after swapping out a steering rack?

I’ve heard that if the steering wheel gets turned during a rack replacement it can mess with the clock spring or steering angle sensor leading to communication issues. Before taking it back to the shop you might want to check the connections to the steering angle sensor and see if it needs recalibration.

Have you called the tech team of Subaru? I think they can provide better insight. Or maybe you can share some photos too or details of the accident.
