Child seat causing Solterra’s occupant sensor to beep

I’ve been having a problem with the rear seat sensor in my car. My child uses a booster seat with a backrest, and occasionally after I drop them off, the car still thinks there’s someone sitting there. It triggers the seatbelt alarm, which beeps continuously until it decides to stop on its own.

I’m not sure how the sensor works, is it weight-based, or is it located in a specific part of the seat? And does anyone know if there’s a way to dismiss the alarm manually when it mistakenly thinks the seat is occupied?

Would love to hear if others have dealt with this or found a solution. Thanks!
 
That sounds like a classic weight sensor issue, and unfortunately, they’re not always super accurate. If you’ve already adjusted the booster seat and the problem persists, it might require a trip to the dealership. They could recalibrate the sensor or let you know if there’s a manual way to turn off the alarm.

Have you checked if there’s a setting to control how long the alarm goes off for?
 
The sensor is usually weight-based and can be sensitive to booster seats, you can try adjusting the seat or buckling the belt.
 
It seems you need to check your sensor it might be too sensitive. Others have had luck messing with the booster position or sticking something thin and flat under it to even out the weight.
