I’ve been driving my Subaru Solterra mostly in Eco mode so the blower fan rarely runs at high speeds. But now I’ve started noticing a weird ticking noise coming from the fan.

The noise wasn’t there before and just started randomly. It doesn’t seem normal feels like something is off. Planning to take it to the dealer soon, but wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Could this be debris stuck in the blower fan, or is it something more serious? Has anyone else heard a similar sound in their Solterra?

It could be debris in the blower fan or a worn-out bearing, try changing fan speeds, if the noise changes, it's likely debris.

It's hard to know exactly what it is but it's probably something stuck in the fan or a problem with the fan itself. While it's likely just debris it's smart to have the dealer check it out with EV systems.

Yep, that ticking noise is usually something stuck in the blower fan, could be a leaf or small debris. If you’re comfortable, you can remove the cabin air filter and peek inside to see if anything’s lodged in there.
