I’m really enjoying my Solterra, but I have to say, the key fob feels like a bit of a letdown. Compared to my previous Subaru (a 2019 Ascent), this one feels a lot cheaper, kind of plastic-y and not nearly as reliable. Sometimes it takes a few clicks to unlock, while other times it works on the first try. It’s just not consistent, which is a little frustrating.

Anyone else noticing the same thing? Makes me wonder if the key fob design is more Toyota than Subaru. Would love to know if others are finding it reliable or if it’s just my luck with this one.

I get what you mean about the key fob on the Solterra, it’s actually a Toyota key fob with a Subaru logo on it, which could explain the difference in feel compared to your Ascent. If your Solterra’s build date was before a certain point and it sat for a while, it might just need a fresh fob battery. That could help with the inconsistent response.
